A GROUP of South Korean Christians flew over to England to bless the streets of Middlewich.
More than 400 Christians from 30 different churches in South Korea have embarked on a prayer mission whereby they are split up into smaller groups and sent to 30 different locations in the UK to bless the area.
As part of the mission a group of the missionaries visited St Michael and All Angels church on Wednesday, September 10, to team up with the congregation and set out on a prayer walk around the town.
Nam Soo Choi, one of the South Korean Christians, said: “We call England our God’s land of faith so we now want to come here to revive the England as it was.
“Christianity in England is dying and now we are here to give help for the nation.”
The group spent the day walking around the town and praying for various streets and for good things to happen on them, before being welcomed in St Michael’s church in the evening to lead the church in prayer.
“Basically they have come because they want to pray that god will strengthen the church here.
“They see the English church as their mother church because in the 19th century English missionaries went over to Korea and were the first to spread the gospel and some of them lost their lives to do so.
“So now they are coming back with hearts of thankfulness to help us.”
