ST Michael and All Angels Church yard has been awarded Silver Standard at this year’s Middlewich in Bloom due to the hard work of the town’s volunteers.
The award is for the Best Floral Display and has been awarded by the Middlewich District Show Society.
The church yard’s floral display is planted each year at the end of May by the Middlewich Clean Team, with help from Brownies, Cubs, Sea Cadets and Kingdom Kids.
As well as the annual planting, the clean team also maintains the church yard year round to add to the baseline care from Cheshire East Council.
Janet Chisholm, Clean Team chairman, said: “This award is due to the hard work of all our junior groups along with their leaders and the Middlewich Clean Team who come along each year to participate in the planting of the church yard.
This year the planting was sponsored by the William Dean Trust and the geraniums were supplied by Ian Pethrick of Fountainhead Plant Supplies.
