A KIND-hearted Winsford schoolgirl has said goodbye to her flowing locks in order to benefit young cancer patients.
Amelie Seath got a brand new bob haircut at Guyz N Dollz on Saturday, September 9.
The off-cuts from the nine-year-old’s new do will be turned into a wig by the Little Princess Trust and donated to a youngster suffering hair loss as a result of chemotherapy.
The generous St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School pupil took it upon herself to undergo the style change after reading about Claudia’s Cause – a website supporting a little girl whose hair fell out while being treated for a brain tumour.
“I’m so proud of her,” said mum, Carla Seath. “She had seen the story about Claudia getting a wig on Facebook and said: ‘I can do that’.
“She said that she would wait until the end of the school year to get it cut, so that there was as much hair as possible to donate.
“It’s something that she decided to do all on her own and she’s not asked for anything in return.
“She’s had it long since she was five years old, so it’s around three or four years of growth.”
“She absolutely loves her new hair cut and it really suits her.”
As well as donating 12 inches of hair, Amelie’s now raised more than £600 for the Little Princess Trust.
Each wig costs around £2,000, but the charity donate them for free to kids in need.
