AN investigation is ongoing after a bus driver had to be rushed to hospital after he was assaulted during his shift.
Cheshire Police say that no charges have been made following the incident at Northwich Bus Station on Watling Street on Saturday at around 1.45pm.
Network Warrington Interim managing director Damian Graham said: "I can confirm that one of our drivers was assaulted whilst operating our Service 45 in Northwich on Saturday.
"He sustained facial injuries and received treatment at Warrington General Hospital and was released later that day.
"Our company will not tolerate any assault on our staff and will prosecute to the full extent of the law.
"The police are conducting a full investigation and, at this stage, it would be inappropriate to make any further comment."
