CHESHIRE will honour those who gave their lives in the First World War on August 17 with a parade and service in Northwich.
The Cheshire county branch of the Royal British Legion will assemble at Crum Hill at 1pm and leave at 1.30pm to march to the war memorial in Church Road.
A short service and wreath laying by the Lord Lietutenant of Cheshire David Briggs, and other dignitaries, will be followed by a service in St Helen’s Church, conducted by the Rev Barry Jobber, chaplain of Cheshire Royal British Legion.
At the end of the service there will be a march back to Crum Hill with the salute taken by the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire.
This annual service of thanksgiving, dedication and remembrance is usually held at Chester Cathedral but it has been decided to move it to a more central location in the county.
Marshall Hunter, county parade marshall, said: “All these able to march should assemble at Crum Hill at 1pm on August 17.
“Remember those who gave some and remember those who gave their all.”
All are welcome.
