RESIDENTS at a project for young homeless women in Winsford are holding their annual open day next week.

Craft activities for kids, along with a popcorn machine and chocolate fountain will feature at Cotswold House on Thursday, June 25.

The facility provides fully furnished bedrooms and a safe environment for women aged 16 and above, offering practical ways to help them find their own place to live and gain independence.

“The open day at Cotswold House is always a highlight of the year and both the staff and residents really look forward to it,” said Kate Blakemore, support worker at Cotswold House.

“It gives us a chance to have a bit of fun and lets the residents meet up with people they previously shared the accommodation with.

“It’s always great to see our ex-residents and find out the great things they’ve been up to since they left us, and also a wonderful opportunity to welcome back our friends and partners.”

Cotswold House features nine fully-furnished bedrooms, three larger rooms for women with children, full CCTV and 24-hour staffing.

It also has internet access, communal gardens and shared lounge, bathrooms and kitchen areas.

12-week recovery toolkit courses to help survivors of domestic abuse move their lives forward are available, as well as fortnightly sexual health clinics, smoking cessation classes, regular community workshops and a job club.
