TWO people from Crewe have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was hospitalised with a stab wound.
A 27-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both from the Crewe area, were arrested following an incident in the town yesterday.
Police and the ambulance service were called just after 2pm yesterday, Sunday June 15, following a report of a serious assault that had taken place in Vernon Street, Crewe.
A 23-year-old man had sustained a stab wound to his torso.
He remains in Hospital in a serious condition.
Inspector Christian Watkins said “Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have been a witness to this assault, and I would like to take this opportunity to reassure our local community that we firmly believe that this was an isolated incident, and that police are now working to establish the background and the circumstances around it.”
