FLOOD victims can apply for cash to help them protect their property.
West Cheshire homes and businesses flooded between December 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014, could be eligible for a grant of up to £5,000 to install flood resilience equipment.
Available through Cheshire West and Chester Council, the Government’s Repair and Renew Grant scheme will pay for a wide range of flood protection measures for property owners who meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants should not have previously received insurance or other funding to pay for the work claimed.
Those who have already paid for installation of flood resilience equipment can make a retrospective application but will be required to demonstrate that they were flooded in the eligible period, produce proof of expenditure and demonstrate that ‘value for money ’ has been achieved.
