TWO members left the June meeting of Comberbach WI looking a million dollars after volunteering to be models for Caroline Parks’ makeup demonstration.
She also gave many helpful tips to assist members with skincare and was thanked by Kath Dunn for her informative talk.
The president welcomed three visitors to the meeting and thanked Delyse Roodhouse for arranging the beautiful basket of flowers on her table.
The annual bowls day and lunch had been a success with warm weather, a tasty buffet and light-hearted competition; Maureen Burtwistle and Lyn McCulloch were worthy winners.
The Ramblers had explored the environs of Walton Hall and the canal with lunch at the Walton Arms in good weather. It is hoped that the planned trip to Lichfield and the National Arboretum will be similarly fortunate!
Exhibits are ready for display at the Cheshire Show and several ladies have volunteered for stewarding and helping in the refreshment tent.
Members will be providing baked goods for the cake stall at Comberbach Fete on June 28.
At the end of the meeting, tea and cakes were served and the raffle was drawn.
The next meeting will be on July 7 at 7.30 pm in Comberbach Memorial Hall. John and Annette Christophers will be talking about “Six Thousand Years with Clay” giving members a chance to be hands on.
Visitors and new members are always welcome, please contact the Secretary on 01606 784858 for details.
