FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a pile of tyres on fire in a mid Cheshire village today, Wednesday.
Residents reported thick black smoke over Marton and two fire engines from Winsford were called to investigate at noon.
A large number of tyres were on fire at Coach Road Farm, in Clay Lane, and firefighters used the water supplies from the two vehicles to extinguish the flames.
