PROUD residents have decided to enter their village into a community competition, despite a lack of picturesque settings.
Moulton Parish Council discussed whether or not to enter the 2014 Community Pride Competition at its February meeting.
Clr Pauline Vernon said: “Forget about it.
“We can’t compete with those villages with lovely ponds.”
Clr Denise Watkinson added: “We can’t compete with those but perhaps for next year we could start a tidy up?”
Clr Tony Rigby, parish council chairman, suggested that the village was prettier than people thought.
“To me there was an essence of it in Regent Street last summer with hanging baskets out, you can see people making an effort.
“Maybe we should do it in 2015 rather than 2014.”
But Phil Sanders, parish clerk, said it was worth doing for the entrance fee.
“I think it’s worth it for £35 and at least we’ll get some pointers.”
