Jobseekers in Northwich and Winsford are benefiting from a pioneering new way of finding work opportunities.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has joined with partner organisations to roll out an online job search system offering residents quick and efficient access to vacancies.
The Kaonix system – which gives access to virtually all UK job vacancies – is available at community venues across Northwich and Winsford including libraries and Work Zones.
It is free to use and jobseekers are given the support of a trained advisor to guide them through how to use the system and the registration process.
Kaonix offers the following features: l Daily updates of job skills l Matching your criteria to relevant jobs l Identification of transferable skills l Better matches, therefore more potential interviews l Access to apprenticeships l Direct links to Universal Job Match system The council’s Northwich and Winsford Locality Team has been working with its partners to roll out the software across Northwich and Winsford.
The partners are Jobcentre Plus, Mid Cheshire College, Cheshire Community Development Trust and Weaver Vale Housing Trust.
Kaonix can be accessed at Northwich, Winsford and Wharton libraries and Northwich and Winsford Work Zones.
It is also available at three further Northwich venues – Cheshire Community Development Trust, Navigation Road; Mid Cheshire College Hartford Campus, Chester Road; and Weaver Vale Housing Trust, Gadbrook Park.
Clr Herbert Manley said: “The internet is transforming the way people find jobs, however, the sheer choice of websites can make online job hunting a daunting experience.
“Kaonix is straightforward to use and enables residents to quickly identify jobs from a vast database that match their skills and experience – as well as offering many other useful features.
“I am sure it will prove a valuable tool for jobseekers in Northwich and Winsford and complement the work of the council and our partners to help residents find job opportunities and reduce the number of people who are unemployed.”
