DAVENHAM residents will not see an increase in their village’s part of the Council Tax bill.
Davenham Parish Council has set its budget for the next financial year so that it will not have to ask residents to pay extra.
Clr Andy Duff, acting chairman at the January meeting, said: “Next year’s budget estimate is £28,739 and we are going to be around £800 over the precept amount we would have received.
“We have a choice of either pushing the precept up by four per cent or taking £800 from reserves.
“Or we could trim the projected budget by taking out bits that are rounded up and down and including the New Homes Bonus payment.”
The council discovered that including the New Homes Bonus payment would enable it to balance the budget without having to increase its precept, which is the amount it receives from Council Tax payers.
The total Council Tax bill also includes payments to Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire’s police and fire authorities.
