POPLAR trees in Kingsmead will be checked over after a complaint that they are too high.
A London Road resident has written to Kingsmead Parish Council about the tall trees blocking the light.
Clr Andrew Murison said: “There are about nine of them on our property by Sir John Deane’s College and the traffic lights on London Road.
“They are our trees, that’s straightforward, but what’s wrong with them?
“They’ve been there 20, 30, even 40 years, why are they suddenly too high?
“Are they dangerous? In which case, yes we’ve got to get rid.”
The council decided to get the trees checked over and price up the cost of pruning.
