ANYONE with an interest in Northwich is being invited to make the most of a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’.

The first community meeting will be held to work on a document setting out what Northwich people want for their town.

The community-led Northwich Neighbourhood Plan (NNP), if passed by referendum, would have the same statutory right and legal force in planning terms with anything in the local plan.

David Roberts, NNP chairman, said: “This will be a meeting that looks at how we move forward with positive ideas that will see Northwich through the next 20 years.

“This plan gives us a once in a lifetime opportunity to provide a better Northwich not only for ourselves but our children and grandchildren.

“While we welcome local community leaders and those with specific expertise, we are calling for all those with an interest in Northwich to attend the meeting.

“We cannot change the immediate plans for Northwich town centre but by looking constructively at the future your Neighbourhood Plan can have can have real influence, with legal status, for over 20 years into the future.

“This is not a meeting to air the same old grievances but to help shape a shape a town you will be proud to live in.”

Seven key areas have been identified as priorities for the town including housing, health and welfare, employment and education, environment, retail and commerce, transpors and infrastructure and finally recreation, tourism and the waterways.

The meeting is not only for those that live in the town but for the 13 parishes within three miles of the town.

It will take place at Winnington Park Recreation Club on Tuesday December 3 at 7.30pm For more information visit NorthwichPlan.org.uk.
