A NORTHWICH college helped Waitrose in its recruitment drive.
Mid Cheshire College was called in to help with the scheme, which saw 1,400 people apply for 140 jobs at the under-construction store at Hayhurst Quay, Northwich.
A two-week sector-based work academy, in conjunction with JobCentre Plus and Waitrose was held at the Hartford campus, with each learner who completed the course guaranteed an interview for a job at the new store, due to open in the autumn.
This is the second sector-based academy the college has successfully delivered after working With Morrisons last year.
Principal Richard Hollywood said: “It is a good example of how the college works effectively in partnership for the benefit of the community and local business.”
