Here’s hoping you had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year brings our town work, community spirit and prosperity.
Let's hope the regeneration projects bring in new businesses and shoppers. I nominated a couple of friends for the Guardian Angels awards 2012 and they have both won!
Taking up Contribution to the Community award that I won last year is Sarah Barnes. Sarah is a dynamic spirited lady who is a shining light for our community.
A richly deserved tribute to an inspirational woman who has created youth projects and Chairs a community committee to improve Rudheath and Witton.
Then Cllr Kevin Rimmer won the Parent of the Year award. I believe Kevin is the welcome antidote to all the stories of feckless fathers. He not only is a brilliant single dad, but also does so much for youth, for the aged and for the town. I thank God I know such amazing people in Northwich. I hope they inspire you to reach out to others in the New Year.
Rudheath and Witton Together loses a pioneering Neighbourhood Manager this year as Steve Newson retires from Cheshire West and Chester council. I can honestly say without Steve to help me in my darkest days, I do not know what I would’ve done.
Thank you, Steve, Sarah and Kevin – and all the others involved in voluntary work which is the pivot of our society, especially in these days of recession and right wing rule.
