GREENWOOD Beryl May On 2nd May 2024 peacefully at Lostock Lodge and of Sandiway. Beryl, aged 95 years, the much loved wife of the late Gren, mother of Peter, Janet and the late Andrew, mother-in-law of Jane and Chris, grandma of Liz, Mike, Rachel & Joanne and great grandma of Connie. Funeral service at St John's Parish Church, Sandiway on Tuesday 14th May at 2.30pm followed by interment at Gorstage Cemetery. Beryl has requested 'No black'. Family flowers only please, donations if wished for St John's Church and The Salvation Army. 40 years have gone, since I had the lovely plaisure of get to know you and Green in Graz.
It was almost dusk, we were mounting our tent, middle July, and you served us a delicious tea, welcoming us in your caravan.
During decades, we visited each other, we build up strong laces and love, making me feel towards you, like my second mom. We shared problems in our souls, we advices each other, always felt in you, the support I wanted in a dear mother.
My dear and lovely friend, thanks for the hugs, thanks for your kind words, for your smile, for your tears, for receiving us in a rainy summer, for your delicious brown cake wrapped in paper, well kept in your caravan, to always welcome dear friends.
I wish you had come more to Portugal, I had come more to England, even though, what we had was unique and strong.
You both gave me a pattern of living the retirement. Next year will retire, will buy a motor caravan (sorry Green, not Caravan😉) and we will hit the road four or five months a year. So far 59 countries, all thanks to your inspiration.
Last week I was in Scotland, tried to phone you, but the 882400 was not connected. Feared the worst, the worst in fact happened.
