Merlewood Hotel is on the elevated south side of the village centre overlooking Saundersfoot Bay, within the Pembrokeshire National Parks. It has been in the same family ownership for well over 50 years. The history of the Merlewood goes back to the 1800s, when Bill Frost & his wife lived there. He was an inventor, and was the first to fly his Frost Airship Glider, he flew from the garage at the Merlewood 500m crashing into the trees at the bottom of the garden on 24th September 1896! !
