Our vision for the academy may sound simple: Like many other schools and academies, we want to create an environment that focuses on high achievement but above all, is a learning organisation focused on improvement and excellence.
As a brand new educational institution, The Sutton Academy has a unique opportunity for delivering a new and innovative learning experience. Our sponsors, St Helens College and Edge Hill University and our key partners, the National Health Service, Local Authority and St Helens Chamber, provide a rich support network to raise and enhance the opportunities for our students, as well as the academy itself. That is why our motto is Living to Learn, Learning to Live. Only by continually looking to improve and develop can we all achieve our unique potential.
Everyone at the academy will have access to excellent learning facilities and first-class support within a safe and caring environment.
Students will experience an innovative curriculum that provides a mixture of skills and competencies, allowing students to succeed in many different contexts. A core aim of the academy is to place students at the centre of their learning and make it active, interesting and fun. Through our specialisms - Science, Sport and Enterprise - the academy will provide a platform for our young people to engage with our wider community. We will have the benefit of working in partnership with, and learning from, business partners, local community groups and other schools.
