RUNNERS will be able to help older people with a race at Tatton Park in the spring.

Age UK Cheshire is taking part in Age UK’s Wrap Up and Run campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of looking out for elderly friends and relatives this winter as well as encouraging elderly people to take better care of themselves.

Age UK launched the campaign last year in response to the needless deaths of more than 200 older people per day in the cold weather.

The aim is to stop unnecessary suffering and preventable winter deaths.

The charity hopes to raise £20,000 nationally to help fund local and national Winter Warmth projects and a 10K run will be held at Tatton Park on Sunday, March 11.

To enter and for more information visit ageuk.org.uk/10k.

There is a £14.95 one-off fee for entry, or £13.95 for affiliated runners, which will be split between Age UK and Age UK Cheshire.
