DRIVERS travelling along the A556 in Northwich yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, were met with delays after a car fire.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they attended Chester Road shortly before 4.45pm.
A spokesperson said: “A car that was well alight on a main highway was attended by firefighters who used a hose reel to extinguish it.
“Police attended for traffic management.”
Weaver and Cuddington Police said the incident occurred 10 metres from Blakemere Craft Centre, heading in the direction of Hartford.
They said the fire caused ‘severely congested’ traffic.
