PHOTOS have been released of a car which caught fire last night on the M6, causing the motorway to be closed.
Middlewich Fire Station has posted photos of a car set ablaze, after a vehicle caught fire last night, Sunday, on the M6 headed northbound between junctions 18 and 19.

The shocking set of photos also display the aftermath, with the smoking wreckage of the car shown on the side of the road. Miraculously, no one was hurt in the fiery incident.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "If you get into difficulties on a smart motorway always pull into a designated area to protect yourself and passing traffic."
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said of the incident: “At 11.23pm NWMPG (North West Motorway Police Group) were made aware of a car fire on the M6 northbound between junction 18 and junction 19.
"There were no reports of any injuries and highways dealt with the incident."
