EMERGENCY repairs are being carried out on the A559 in Wincham this morning after a huge sinkhole emerged overnight.
Cheshire Police was contacted about the issue at 6.50am today, January 29, near Wincham Hall Hotel in Hall Lane.
Officers attended and discovered a hole of around one square metre in size.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s highways team was called out to the scene to take on emergency repairs on the road.

Temporary traffic lights have been put in place to control traffic while work takes place.
A CWAC spokesman added: "We can confirm that there is a partial carriageway collapse of the A559 near Wincham Hall associated with a surface water main.
"The council is in attendance on-site with United Utilities to agree repair works."
