MOTORISTS are being warned of travel disruption on the roads in Hartford.
This is due to a small sinkhole appearing yesterday afternoon on School Lane near the entrance of St John’s Church.
Residents have also reported that the traffic lights on the junction of Bradburns Lane and Chester Road had failed.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s highways team have been notified about the issues and are currently working to resolve them.
At present, School Lane remain closed but the traffic lights on Bradburns Lane have been repaired.
The sinkhole on School Lane
One resident of School Lane told the Guardian: “The sinkhole is causing lots of traffic issues.
“I can’t even drive into or out of my house, which isn’t ideal at this time of year with two kids.”
A spokesperson for Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “A hole appeared yesterday on School Lane in Hartford and we are in the process of carrying out investigations.
“The area has been closed for safety reasons and we intend the repairs to be carried out by tomorrow at the latest.
“The traffic signals on Bradburns Lane have been repaired.”
