A MAN found dead in a pond in Dutton has now been identified by police, thanks to a public appeal.
At 11.27am on Saturday, November 3, the body of a man was found in a pond in land off Higher Lane.
The body has now been identified as a 44-year-old man from Runcorn, with police saying their are no suspicious circumstances.
DI Paul Hughes, of the Major Investigation Team, said: "Following extensive enquiries I can now confirm the body of a man found in a pond in Northwich has now been identified.
"His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
"I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank the public and the media for their help."
DI Hughes had over the weekend asked for anyone with concerns over missing loved ones to contact the police, with officers struggling to identify the man.
