A SINKHOLE has appeared in Weaverham.
The sinkhole, which is approximately two-three feet wide, appeared on Gleave Road in Weaverham towards the end of last week.
The hole has been cordoned off and a traffic cone has been placed on it while Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) staff establish what has caused the sink hole to appear.
Cllr Brian Clarke, Cheshire West and Chester Council cabinet member for economic development and infrastructure, said: “Our Place Operations team is aware of the carriageway void in Gleave Road, Weaverham and has visited the site to make the area safe.
“Further investigation work is programmed to establish the cause of the problem before any remedial work can begin by the relevant organisation.”
A spokesman for CWAC said there is ‘no reason motorists should avoid the area’.
