CHOIR members defied the rain to raise almost £500 for charity thanks to the generosity of Northwich shoppers.
Members of the Wincham-based Heather Baker Singing Studios performed for three hours in Witton Street outside the Sue Ryder charity shop.
Shoppers were entertained by members of the Northwich Pop Choir and the Kids Glee Club, who performed for Cancer Research UK.
A £150 donation from the £498 raised went to the Sue Ryder charity as a thank you for the shop’s help in allowing the singers to use its power supply for the backing tracks.
“We started an hour late because of the heavy rain, but the rain stopped and the sun came out, and we would like to thank everyone for their generosity and the Sue Ryder shop for its help,” said Heather Baker, who took part with her 16-month-old daughter Elsie.
