TWO new exhibitions have been launched in Northwich town centre which show off the community and the beauty of the natural world.
The Visual Arts Cheshire (VAC) Gallery, in Brunner Court, is holding its ‘20 x 20’ exhibition of mini 20cm by 20cm works of art by the community alongside an exhibition of work by the Cheshire Guild of Woodturners.
Weaverham man Peter Curnuck, chairman of the Cheshire guild, said: “It is quite an unusual exhibition because of the wide range of material we are providing.
“It’s unusual to have a wide range of wood turning examples all together in the gallery.”
Both exhibitions run until March 28 and are open from 10.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, excluding Wednesdays.
The Cheshire Guild of Woodturners, which has about 60 members, are showcasing objects as diverse as bowls, toys and even jewellery.
The guild meets at Plumley Village Hall on the third Thursday of each month and enjoys talks, demonstrations and competitions.
Members also show off their skills at craft fairs and events during the summer.
Peter said: “In 10 minutes you can turn a little branch into a mushroom – little things you can do really quickly.
“Children especially are fascinated by that.”

The VAC Gallery is at 93 Brunner Court, near Northwich Library.
