A GROUP of artists are giving Weaver Square a splash of colour with a month-long pop up studio.
The London Road Collective, a group made up entirely of enthusiastic artists from in and around Northwich, has taken over an empty unit in the shopping centre, where it hopes to encourage shoppers into the town centre.
The last time the group held such an event, they helped to design Witton Street’s pavement art, and this time they are running the ‘Postcard from Northwich’ project, asking people to write down what they love about Northwich, what they would change, and who they would send the postcard to to help make that change.
Carolyn Shepherd, founder of the group, said: “Anyone can pop in and visit us – we will be working on various art projects in Weaver Square until February 17 and welcome visitors who want to ask questions or join in.”
The group will also be joining forces with shopkeepers who want to attract more trade to the town centre.
